I recently purchased a new window safety relay. When I connect the battery, the relay energizes. Seems like it previously only energized when the ignition was switch was on. What is correct?

Hi Jay –
You are correct. The original function of that relay is to prevent power window operation with the ignition key in the off position, hence the name “power window safety relay”. We could have rebuilt your original relay for you here at Lincoln Land “if ” it proved faulty. If we can be of any assistance to you please let us know.
