Greetings!
When my headlights are ON, the “HEADLAMPS” indicator on the overhead will occasionally light. Then over bumps it will turn off and on randomly.
I assume the switch is flaky (I have an NOS spare) or misadjusted. I’m wondering if I can get at the headlight switches without tearing the whole thing apart, or in other words, “how do I get at the sense switches?”
Thanks!
David

Hi Dave –
Correct diagnosis for problems such as this usually requires the use of the proper maintenance manuals and wiring diagrams etc. With the use of the above manuals I would begin by having the car idling in park with a helper in the driver’s seat watching that INDICATOR light with the headlamps on while I carefully moved or jiggled the wiring involved in order to create the driving over bumps that you have mentioned. Doing this should lead you to the area or switch or wiring that is the issue and see how to correct it.
Sincerely,
Bill
