Bill –
Hello, I’m having a parasitic draw issue. I have removed all fuses and still have a draw. When I disconnect the negative battery cable and reconnect it the window regulator clicks and something else in the engine compartment clicks. It’s by the cluster that goes to the fuse block. So I am going to go through the fuses again. Could it be a diode in the alternator allowing current to leak back from the battery? Need some guidance as it drains by battery and the alternator checked good so I’m perplexed. Thank you
Frank

Hello Frank –
An excess electrical draw such as this can be difficult to diagnose and therefore you must be patient and also consider several possibilities that I cannot possibly know or see from here. Some of that necessary information to consider while troubleshooting and isolating the problem could be…..Has the vehicle’s factory wiring been tampered with? Has non stock or incorrect electrical equipment been poorly installed? Was the vehicle purchased with this problem? At what point did the draw begin etc. etc.
The best way for correct diagnosis is to electrically isolate the problem by removing fuses or disconnecting components etc. one item at a time until the cause or draw is found. Let us know what you discover.
Sincerely,
Bill
