1965 Continental Brake Issue

Bill –

On my 65. Not getting brake fluid to the rear drums. Seems to come out of the master cylinder fine, but does not come out the line at brake. (not getting to my wheel cyclinders. Any ideas? My front brakes appear to be working as does my emergency brake. Proportion value?

Mike
Thank you

Hi Mike –

From the information that you have stated  ” seems to coming out of the master cylinder fine but does not come out of the line at brake”  and not knowing what you have checked so far I can only offer the following. The brake line to the rear cylinders from the master cylinder must now be carefully inspected for some sort of obstruction and repaired if necessary as does the rear cylinders. In other words, if liquid pressure from the master cylinder is pumping liquid pressure into the rear brake line with proper pressure “fine” as you have indicated it must then travel through that line as designed to the rear wheel cylinders and operate the brakes. If this brake system has not been serviced or maintained etc. for years you should be able to diagnose the problem with the above suggestions.

Let us know what you discover.

Sincerely,

Bill
